  3. Welcome to Search Express, the premiere search tool for the IBM PC and
  4. Compatibles! With this release we continue in our quest to provide you with 
  5. quality information management tools- the key to success in todayÆs 
  6. information world.

  8. Search Express is a is a Software Program, with the specific purpose of fast 
  9. retrieval of information regardless of file type or media.

  11. With the arrival of bigger and bigger hard disks and thousands of files, 
  12. valuable information tend to get lost. Imagine having an entire hard disk 
  13. full of files and realizing that you are going to have to open each file to 
  14. find that bit of information you need!

  16. With Search Express nothing stays hidden. You can search through thousands 
  17. of word-processing files, e-mails, faxes, scanned documents, text files, 
  18. database files and more, to find just the information you need, FAST! You 
  19. can accomplish work that would normally take you weeks or even months, 
  20. looking for that key information you knew you had but couldnÆt remember 
  21. where. PhantechÆs Search Express can sift through megabytes of files in just 
  22. seconds.

  24. Three type of searches are available:

  26. Local 
  27. You choose the directory and the files, PhantechÆs Search Express searches 
  28. through them to find what you need in a hurry. If you know the directory 
  29. where the information is then this type of search is very fast because it 
  30. only works on files that you have selected.

  32. Global
  33. Searches your entire hard disk, diskette or network. If you donÆt know where 
  34. the information is then a Global Search is in order. If itÆs there, 
  35. PhantechÆs Search Express will find it. You can choose the directory to 
  36. start from, stop the search, restart it, restart it from a new directory or 
  37. start a new search. And Search Express keeps you informed of the searchÆs 
  38. progress by letting you know what directory is currently being searched, how 
  39. many files it searched through, the accumulated size of files searched and 
  40. the number of finds produced.

  42. File
  43. Searches your entire hard disk, diskette or network for files that meet a 
  44. certain file pattern. File Patterns can be names or partial names or 
  45. wildcards in many different combinations. If the file is there somewhere 
  46. Search Express will find it. With blinding speed.

  48. With Search Express you are not limited to just simple searches. Search 
  49. Express has a very sophisticated search engine that can perform SIMPLE as 
  50. well as FUZZY and BOOLEAN (Logic) searches with 2 search words using AND, 
  51. OR, NOT logic. You can search numbers, greater than, less than, between 
  52. numbers and search for dates, a certain date or between dates.

  54. When youÆre done, just click a button and Search ExpressÆs Find List will 
  55. show you a list of finds. Double click on a find and PhantechÆs Search 
  56. Express will open the file in itÆs File Viewer and highlight the find.
